About the Central Oklahoma
Humane Society:
The
Central Oklahoma Humane Society is a new animal welfare organization,
established in January 2007. We are committed to the animals in our
community through rescue, rehabilitation, advocacy and education of the
public regarding responsible pet ownership.
OK
Humane was established under Section 501c (3) of the US Internal Revenue
Code and all charitable donations are tax deductible. We are not a shelter,
although a no-kill shelter facility is in the works. All of our animals are
kept in foster homes until placement.
We
are an integral part of assisting the OKC Animal Shelter in becoming a
No-Kill shelter. We not only transfer animals out of the shelter, we also
educate the community regarding pertinent issues affecting animals in our
community, especially the importance of spaying/neutering.
